Below are some of the more frequently asked questions concerning our NFC jewelry collections:

 

 Q. What is NFC? 
 
 A. The letters “NFC” refer to Near Field Communication. This is a radio signal that provides short range two-way communication between NFC-enabled Smartphones and other NFC-enabled devices, including NFC tags that are housed in the Horsocope Jewelry Collection. NFC tags are non-energized integrated circuits that receive energy from the radio signal that is transmitted through close proximity or tapping with NFC-enabled Smartphones.
 
 
Q.  How do I start to connect my Smartphone with my newly purchased jewelry?
 
A.    1.  Unlock your NFC-enabled Smartphone with your password or pattern  
        2. Go to “Settings”  and activate NFC and S Beam - Watch The Video     
        3. Touch the jewelry with the back of your Smartphone, at the centre, to find the “sweet spot.”
 
Q.  What is a sweet spot?
 
A. The sweet spot is the location of the antenna under the back cover of a Smartphone where the radio signal and jewelry connect most easily. Generally, this is in the centre of the back cover. Try moving the back of your Smartphone or Tablet over the front of your ring. It may take a little bit of practice, but once you find the sweet spot you can now be linked to the internet. The “read distance” may allow you to merely hold the Smartphone within a few millimeters from the ring in order to establish the signal connection.
 
Q.  What is the read distance?
 
A. This is the distance that the NFC radio signal must travel from the Smartphone to the NFC tag that is built into the jewelry. The distance will vary according to individual Smartphones and the pieces of jewelry. The best effect is achieved by touching or tapping the Smartphone to the ring. However, the signal can often travel a very short distance within 1mm to 5mm. The short distance is intentional by design in order to provide security against undesirable interference from other radio signals. This is "touch technology.”
 
Q.  Are the rings sturdy and waterproof?
 
A. We have performed a considerable amount of research and development on our NFC Horoscope Jewelry Collection in order to create the most durable and reliable products possible. Our embeded NFC Tags can withstand temperatures from minus 20 up to plus 50 degrees Celsius ( 68 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit). The rings are waterproof and can be wore when showering or swimming.
 
Q.  What warranty is provided?
 
A. We provide a one year limited warranty against any factory defects.
 
Q.  Does the jewelry require any electrical charging?
 
A. There is no need for batteries or any electrical charging. The jewelry contains no power. It
receives its energy upon contact with your NFC-equipped Smartphone or Tablet. 
 
Q.  What if the NFC tag in my jewelry fails?
 
A.  We use the best quality materials possible and  we consistently test our products before shipment. Should there be a failure during the one-year warranty period, just send it back to us and we will send you a new replacement. (Certain conditions apply).
 
Q.  What materials come with my order?
 
A. The rings come in specially designed presentation boxes. An enclosed scrolled leaflet provides operating
directions and how to care for your Jewelry. 
 
Q.  On what Smartphones has the jewelry been tested?
 
A. We have tested our jewelry on a large number of Smartphones and Tablets like Android and Windows.
 
Q.  Will the jewelry work with my Apple iPhone?
 
A. The technology we use will only work with NFC-enabled devices (such as Android and Windows) which excludes the current series of Apple iPhones and iPads. However, it is expected that the next generation of iPhones and iPads will incorporate this technology. You can also use an NFC enabled case for your iPhone from companies like icarte.ca, if you really want to get started. 
 
Q.  Will the jewelry work with my Smartphone if I have a case over it?
 
A.  It depends on the type of Smartphone that you have and the thickness of the exterior casing. For best results it is recommended using a stick-on protector however some of our customers have found good results with flexible or hard cases.
 
Q. Where do I find the NFC app to download?
 
A.  No app is required. The technology is already built in your NFC-enabled Smartphone or Tablet.
 
Q.  Can I get a custom artwork/design or inscription/engraving on this jewelry?
 
A.  Currently we don’t support this option. However it is part of our future plan. 
 
Q.  What do I determine my ring size when I order?
 
A.  Please click here to determine your ring size.
 
 
Q.  How many rings can I wear?
 
A.  As many as you want but we recommend having a gap between each one so to avoid Radio Crosstalk.
